Hello, there! I’m Bethany Storey. Ms. Bethany’s School of Cooking started out of a desire to reach more people than I could in a physical classroom.
After writing nutritional profiles for a vegetable farm, I understood how disconnected we are from our food. I have a degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition, but before working on the farm I couldn’t have told you how Brussels sprouts or bell peppers grow! What did they look like from seed to harvest? (The photo below will give you a hint…) This experience began my journey to learn about food beyond grams of protein and calories.
I later worked at a cooking school under a talented Chef, and learned to cook. Since then I’ve enjoyed teaching cooking to kids as young as preschool (which is where ‘Ms. Bethany’ caught on) to adults, and everyone in between.
Helping people feel empowered to take control of their health through food education is what drives me. It’s been my experience that if people feel inspired and confident in the kitchen, they are more likely to cook. I’m here to show you how, and get you movin’ and groovin’ in the kitchen!
