This is my favorite Chef’s knife for beginner cooks. Victorinox is the company that makes Swiss Army Knives: it’s a reputable company that makes quality products at a great price.

It’s lightweight with a handle that’s easy to grip, and won’t break the bank:

Wusthof is one of the leading brands in knives. They are pricier than Victorinox, but are excellent quality. These are mid to high end price range.

MAC knives are another great option. Made in Japan, lightweight and comfortable. The thin blade makes cutting onions a breeze.
